Introduction
The beautiful countryside of the South East is a perfect setting for a cycling trip, whether you are an experienced and regular cyclist, or just want to spend a leisurely day or two exploring the varied landscapes that make up the region. Tucked away in many of the corners of this area are quiet lanes and small villages that are ideal for exploration by bike.
Not only does the region boast some spectacular circular cycle paths, but the 161 km South Downs Way allows long distance cyclists a wonderful undulating off road route. The eastern end of the North Downs have many lanes and tracks that are suitable for both on-road and off-road routes (See Maps and Guides)
Why not make a holiday out of it? Cycling holidays can be either self-organised, or organised by a cycling holiday operator. Centre-based cycling holidays allow you to base yourself at one overnight place, whilst cycle touring holidays enable you to change where your overnight stay is.
