The beautiful county of Hampshire is very well served by a network of over 3,000 miles of rights of way giving access for everyone to most parts of the county - on footpaths, bridleways and byways.
Alresford is a handsome Georgian market town surrounded by rolling chalk downland. It is the hub of the watercress industry in the UK due to the clear chalk streams, which remain at a relatively constant temperature. It is the perfect place to spend a peaceful few days, surrounded by quintessential English countryside.
Alton, whose history goes back to the Doomsday Book, has been called Hampshire’s friendliest market town. Set in the valley of the River Wey it is surrounded by astonishingly beautiful and unspoilt countryside. The town makes the perfect base for exploring.
Stockbridge
An attractive small market town lying at the heart of the Test Valley. The town is centred on a wide picturesque High Street and offers traditional groceries, tearooms, pubs and restaurants, picture and craft galleries and a variety of antique shops. You may even be lucky enough to catch glimpses of trout in the River Test that flows under the High Street.
